Konon katanya masa muda adalah masa untuk mencari pengalaman sebanyak-banyak nya dan katanya jangan sia-siakan waktu muda untuk berdiam. Kalimat itu sering aku dengar ketika aku masuk ke dalam dunia kampus, rasanya pengalaman dan tantangan yang ada memang harus dihadapi dan diselesaikan. Tapi pengalaman yang satu ini, rasa nya ingin aku rasakan dalam waktu yang panjang. Pengalaman yang terlupakan bersama Departemen Sosial Masyarakat, BEM Kema Polban 2024.
Selama tiga bulan terakhir menjadi seorang staff muda Sosma, banyak sekali pengalaman yang didapatkan, rasanya sudah mengenal lama sosma karena padatnya berbagai kegiatan yang dilalui. Ada kalanya aku merasa lelah, bahkan hingga sekarang, ada banyak beban yang perlu di bawa setiap harinya. Namun beban itu tidak lebih besar dari rasa bahagia dan syukur ketika menjadi bagian dari departemen ini.
Saat pertama kali menjadi staff muda, tentunya ada berbagai kendala, kebingungan, kesulitan dan berbagai tantangan lain yang dihadapi saat diamanahi menjadi bagian dari tim hebat ini. Terlebih ketika di amanahi sebagai pemegang salah satu kegiatan besar departemen sosma. “apakah aku bisa?” , “kenapa para pengurus memilih aku? Kenapa orang lain tidak?” , “aku sepertinya tidak mampu” kalimat kalimat itu selalu berbenak di pikiran aku dan rasanya tidak bisa keluar bahkan terkadang hingga sekarang. Namun dukungan dari staff muda dan staff ahli lain, membuat aku mulai kembali mempercayai diri untuk terus bertahan dan belajar.
Pembelajaran pertama dimulai ketika kami harus membuat kepanitiaan pada kegiatan pertama kami, BERSERI (Bersama Sosma Ke Desa Indragiri). Saat itu aku cukup kewalahan bagaimana caranya aku mengatur sebuah kepanitiaan, yang didalamnnya terdapat sumber daya manusia yang berbeda-beda, yang pribadi nya pun belum aku kenali dalam jangka waktu yang lama. Namun, para staff ahli selalu mengarahkan kami semua ketika kami kesulitan. Akhirnya sampailah kami pada pelaksanaan kegiatan ini
Kegiatan BERSERI menjadi salah satu pengalaman yang berkesan bagiku. pertama kali nya seluruh staff muda dan staff ahli bersama mendatangi Desa yang hangat, Desa Indragiri. Senyum anak-anak yang riang, warga yang menyambut baik kami semua, rasanya ingin selalu kembali kesana dan menghirup udara segar desa Indragiri. Kegiatan ini juga mengenalkan aku pada kehidupan yang berbeda, kehidupan yang dimana arti kebersamaan, kepedulian, dan ketulusan sangat bermakna.
Pada BERSERI ini, kami sebagai staff muda diajarkan untuk selalu santun dan menjaga etika yang baik ketika menginjak rumah orang lain, ada yang bilang ‘di mana bumi dipijak, di situ langit dijunjung’. Yang berarti bahwa kita harus menghormati adat istiadat yang berlaku di tempat yang di kunjungi.
Kegiatan selanjutnya ada pada pergerakan Forum Sosial, untuk pertama kalinya pengalaman baru telah terbuka, aku mempresentasikan program kerja kepada para teman-teman departemen sosial yang tergabung pada forum sosial ini, tentunya tekanan datang ketika aku seorang yang gugup untuk berbicara depan orang harus mempresentasikan sebuah program kerja. Tetapi ketegangan itu mulai berkurang ketika aku mulai menyampaikan presentasi, serta tentunya dukungan dari teman-teman yang selalu membuat aku percaya bahwa semuanaya akan berjalan dengan baik. Juga senang rasanya melihat mahasiswa yang mengikuti forum sosial memiliki semangat yang tinggi dalam memperjuangkan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, maupun lingkungan.
Berlanjut pada kegiatan lingkungan “One Day Clean Up” yakni kegiatan memberihkan kampus selama satu hari. Dari kegiatan ini aku belajar banyak sekali hal baru, bagaimana jahatnya sampah terhadap keberlanjutan lingkungan. Banyak sekali pembelajaran yang diambil dari pergerakan ini, terlebih aku bertemu dengan beberapa orang yang peduli akan sampah. Aku selalu berharap kegiatan ini terus dibudayakan agar seluruh mahasiswa tersadar betapa pentingnya menjaga lingkungan kita. Terkadang manusia berpikir mereka punya ruang yang besar di bumi ini, namun nyatanya ruangan itu sudah mulai banyak ditempati oleh sampah yang tidak kita olah, sampah yang dibuang begitu saja, sampah hasil dari tangan manusia itu sendiri.
Setelah beberapa kegiatan tersebut, ada kalanya kegiatan yang melelahkan mulai berdatangan, terkhususnya karena staff ahli yang selalu mengajak para staff muda untuk berdiskusi mengenai rencana Sosial Masyarakat kedepannya. Hal ini hal yang membuat aku terkadang kewalahan harus mencerna penjelasan-penjelesan yang berat dari pada staff ahli. Disisi lain, diskusi dengan staff ahli dan staff muda adalah momen yang sangat aku tunggu. Disini kami bisa bertukar cerita, memikirkan masa depan, dan mencari solusi dari setiap masalah yang ada pada diri kami ataupun pada masyarakat dan lingkungan. Pengalaman ini menjadi pengalaman yang spektakular, aku selalu bersyukur aku bisa berdiskusi dengan orang-orang hebat pada bidang ini.
Rasa kebermanfaatan itu sangat menyejukan hati, lelah karena menjadi orang yang bermanfaat adalah lelah yang aku sukai.
Sampailah aku pada Program Kerja yang baru saja dilaksanakan, Envuronment Care Occasion Series 2024, yakni kegiatan selama 10 hari pembuatan taman edukasi lingkungan. Tentunya pembelajaran mengenai edukasi lingkugan sangat beragam yang lahir pada Program Kerja ini, salah satu yang berkesan adalah ketika kami diajak untuk berkunjung pada lab kang pisman, dimana kami diedukasi mengenai pengelolaan sampah yang baik, sampah yang ada seharusnya diolah oleh kita, manusia sebagai pembuat sampah. Dilanjutkan dengan pengerjaan taman yang melelahkan, namun sangat berbuah manis, aku bertemu dengan beberapa orang hebat yang mau berkontribusi bersama pada pembuatan taman ini.
